Our goal is to ensure our clients have a safe and successful hunt experience. To make this happen we do our best to meet all of your expectations. Your guide, Mike Courneya, likes to treat our clients to dinner the night before the hunt. This gives everyone a chance to meet and talk about the next couple of days. It also gives Mike a chance to review safety policies and ranch hunting rules with our guests. This is also a great opportunity for Mike to find out what each hunter is expecting from their time at the Canadian Hunt Ranch. There are so many different ways to conduct a hunt and Mike wants to make sure that each hunter's experience is tailored to their needs. For example, clients can hunt with blinds or in a tree stand in the morning and if they are not successful by lunch they could stalk the animal for the afternoon. Let Mike know what you want and he will do his best to make it happen.
Safety is very important to all of us. We want to ensure everyone has a successful and safe hunt. Please read the following safety rules. Mike will review them with you before the hunt.
The Safety Rules
- No alcoholic beverages before or during the hunt.
- Everyone will be asked to PROVE your firearm sights are accurate by shooting at a target from 50 yards.
- Before the daily hunt begins, everyone will meet with their guide to discuss safety on the ranch.
- A single cartridge may be stored in the firearm magazine however it may not be chambered until given permission from your guide.
- The firearm safety must always be on until your guide has given you the permission to switch it off.
- While walking, the muzzle of your firearm must always be pointed in the safest direction and carried in a safe manner.
- When we stop to take a break (ie. lunch) all cartridges in the firearm must be removed.
- At the end of the hunting day all hunters must PROVE their firearm to their guide before storing it.
- If you stay overnight at the ranch facility, your guide will safely store your firearm away from the accommodations.
